idiCORETM helps close two cases with one call

When a string of vehicle thefts plagued the Teague Police Department, Chief of Police DeWayne Philpott used the comprehensive identity data available from idiCORE to close two cases with a single phone call.

Challenge

Teague Police Department was tasked with investigating a stolen sedan, which lacked any significant clues that might lead to its recovery.

Solution

idiCORE offers an industry-leading data repository of proprietary, public record, and publicly available data covering nearly 100% of the adult U.S. population—accessible via an intuitive online interface or mobile app.

When a stolen truck was recovered by Teague Police, they used idiCORE’s comprehensive data to identify and locate the registered owner so that it may be returned. The truck’s owner, an 80-year-old man who was recovering from a recent stroke was unaware it was missing.

Results

While reuniting the stolen truck with its owner, Teague Police identified the original stolen sedan, parked in the truck owner’s driveway. The thieves had stolen the sedan, then abandoned it to instead steal the more valuable truck. With one phone call using idiCORE’s phone number data, Teague Police Department was able to solve an open stolen vehicle case and return a second stolen vehicle to its owner before it had even been reported as missing.

Being able to solve cases this efficiently is like nothing I’ve ever been able to do with other data platforms we’ve used in the past.

— DeWayne Philpott

Chief of Police, Teague Police Department
